curriculum package will enable students to explore the early history of Qantas
and its importance to the development of remote and rural Australia.
Students will learn about the science of flight through hands-on activities. |

Tour Activities Circle of Knowledge This simple group-based brainstorming activity allows students to collate their ideas on the early days of Qantas. It is suitable to use immediately after your tour of the Museum. Principles of Flight Using the activities from the 1997 Science Week booklet on flight, students complete hands-on tasks that explore the fundamentals of flight. Six Hat Thinking Aviation in Western Queensland has been greatly valued since the early days of the 20th century. Here students will review its importance from six different perspectives. |

School Based Activities Bloom's Taxonomy Mechanised flight has changed the world immensely. In this activity students study some of the fundamental elements of flight and flying using Bloom's critical thinking levels Jigsaw An innovative group activity which allows students to gather and relate the main points of a passage. In this activity students will study the adventures of Hudson Fysh and Paul McGinness as they made the Queensland and Northern Territory Aerial Service a reality. Smart Pizza As our national airline, Qantas is part of the important transport and tourism industries. Students are required to use different learning styles to consider some aspects of these industries. |
